Laurie was born and raised in the rolling verdant landscapes of the Green Mountains of Vermont, where she discovered her life-long passion for animals and creating art, with lions and the big cats as her main subjects.  She attended Parsons School of Design in New York City and discovered horseback riding in Central Park; it was here her love of horses began. She then moved to the northern foothills of Colorado where for many years now, she owns a small farm and lives with her Morgan horses, who are her inspirations and best friends.
